Aston Villa set to swoop for £3million Arsenal defender?

Aston Villa Football Club hope to land Philippe Senderos for £3million this summer.

The Switzerland international spent last season on loan at AC Milan, after slipping down the pecking order for places in Arsene Wenger’s back four at Arsenal.

Senderos admits he would like to remain in Italy, but after making just 12 appearances last season, Rossoneri vice-president Adriano Galliani has already ruled out a deal for the 24-year-old.

Senderos’ plight with the Londoners looks to be gotten worse with Wenger about to bring in Thomas Vermaelen for £11million, and reports suggest Martin O’Neill may bid for the Swiss this summer.

The Villa manager has lost Martin Laursen through retirement and is looking for a replacement, and he is said to be hopeful of landing the former Servette man for £3million.

Dont sell him he is better than silvestre, keep him as back up and then we have a back 4 of clichy vermaelen toure sagna, bring in Miguel Veloso & maybe get rid of ade and bring in a new striker then next season we will defo b in top 2

ya sell him! sell him!last year when he left for milan i cried. why should a 24yr strong defender who is good is good in the air be replaced by a man u reject we would ve fair better had he been arround last season and i guess he his better now. if we re to sell ppl by the number of games they made us loose we should ve sold wenger 3 seasons ago

r u that foolish how is gallas injury prone and gallas and toures partnership is amazing its because we are missing a CDM does it make sense that we had the sme back 4 last season but we conceded more this season, why because no FLAMINI,GILBERTO or that prik DIARRA nt the back 4 but midfield fuck sakho he aint needed people need 2 realise Gallas is a quality defender who scored also 6 goals 4 us this season

Keep Senderos as back-up. Get rid of Silvestre and Gallas. Vermaelen can play left back and is quality. Next season back four - Vermaelen, Toure, Sakho, Sagna.

£3 MILLION... THATS ALL!!! CHAMPIONSHIP PLAYERS ARE WORTH MORE!!!! He aint as good as the likes of terry, ferdinand and vidic. But WHO IS? He is better than BASSONG who is priced at £15 million OUTRAGEOUS!!! At least senderos has had experience in the premiership and Champions league for years and has learnt from maldini in serie a. KEEP HIM AND HAVE HIM AS BACKUP OR USE AS BAIT TO LAND SAKHO. GET RID OF SILVESTRE ALSO.

Ideket.....or should i say Idiot. What has Gibbs being a ' left winger ' got to do with us selling/keeping Senderos? Gallas is NOT injury prone, he was unlucky last season to be out for so long, as someone fell on his knee, it would happen to any player. Toure being ' too small ' well it didnt seem to be a problem when he was in a team that went 49 games unbeaten and almost won the CL and the PL the following season....height is a nice to have at the back, but amazingly most of the goals we let in last season had nothing to do with us having small CB's or players, but a lack of quality at times and defending as a unit. if we bring in someone like Vermaelen that id be happy, hes a leader and despite not being the tallest is very good in the air, and id rather have someone like that than some slow turning tall player like a lot of teams have, because it just wouldnt fit in with our style of play.

People actually forget we got to the champions league final with a partnership of Senderos and Campbell... he definitely has something to offer and i think should be replacing next season... and trust me.. he's definitely better than Witter!!

Do not sell Senderos. He's better than Silvestre. Gibbs is a left winger. Gallas is injury-prone. Toure is small. He kept Sol Campbell out of the team once.

3 million and i'm sure wenger will put a a clause in the deal stating that we get 40 percent or more of the money from his next transfer. he's done thst with diarra, pennant, bentley and many more !
