Neighbours City are hot favourites to take the former West Ham United star across the city to Eastlands, but reports in the News of the World suggest Chelsea are hoping to hijack the deal.
Kia Joorabchian may demand as much as £30million for him to release the rights of Tevez, 25, and the Stamford Bridge club could afford this a well as a wage of £120,000-per-week.
