Andy O'Brien has signed a new contract at Bolton Wanderers Football Club.

The former Portsmouth defender has established himself as a key player for the Trotters since his arrival in 2007, and his new deal keeps him at the club until the summer of 2011.

"I'm eternally grateful for the opportunity that Bolton Wanderers gave me, and the way that the people at the club have treated me," O'Brien told the club's official website.

"This has made me enjoy my football as much as I ever have done in my career, so hopefully I'll continue to do that and we'll pick up results. From my point of view, I'm happy at Bolton.

"So if they were happy to keep me then there was never a problem. I'm delighted to have extended my contract and there's plenty of hard work ahead of me now."
