Brentford have completed the signing of defender Alan Bennett.

27-year old Bennett was at Griffin Park on loan from Reading for the whole season but has now signed a permanent two-year deal.

Bennett is in Ireland for a testimonial match but is expected to sign when he returns to England.

He said, "I spoke to someone from Brentford who came over to Cork a couple of days ago and it was all really positive. I'm happy enough so it’s just a matter of me actually signing the contract at this stage."
