Joe Hart will spend the 2009/10 season on loan at Birmingham City Football Club.

The 22-year-old has designs on playing for England at the World Cup Finals next summer, but he is behind Shay Given in the pecking order at Manchester City.

Hart, therefore, was eager to leave Eastlands on a loan deal, and Birmingham have now confirmed the former Shrewsbury Town youngster is heading to St Andrews.

In the meantime, the goalkeeper will continue to shine for England Under-21’s in the European Championships, with a semi-final place in Swede already booked.
