Manchester United are being heavily linked with a £17million deal for Diego Lopez.

Edwin van der Sar is widely expected to hang up his gloves at the end of next season, when England’s Ben Foster will hope to inherit his number one jersey at Old Trafford.

However, reports in Sport claim the Premier League champions are hoping to agree a £17million deal with Villarreal which could see Lopez, 27, head to England next year.
