Champagne Charlie says Arsenal need 2 more additions to be title challengers
"Champagne" Charlie Nicholas reckons Arsenal need to add a striker and a midfielder to their ranks to become genuine title challengers next season.
Nicholas, who was at Arsenal between 1983 and 1987 told Sky Sports News: "I think Arsene Wenger will add two or three players to the squad.
"I know the Belgian defender [Thomas Vermaelen] has already come in. Not the tallest, not the most physical athlete we were all anticipating."
He added: "I'm not looking for a Vidic-type all the time, it doesn't have to be the most aggressive defender in the world. A young Sami Hyypia, that type of player is Arsenal type-standard.
"I'm pretty sure there will be a striker and possibly a midfield player to come yet.
"I certainly hope so, because if they do that I don't think they'll be far away."
