Cranie eyes spot left by £17.5million Portsmouth sale
Martin Cranie hopes to win Glen Johnson’s place at Portsmouth Football Club.
England international Johnson has left Fratton Park for Liverpool in a £17.5million deal, and now Cranie, and Under-21 international, hopes to be given a run in the first team.
"Obviously there's an opportunity at right-back now and I am hoping to get my chance and show what I can do. I am not going to say too much at the moment,” he told The News.
“There have been a few different managers since I've been at the club and I don't know who is going to be in charge next season. The situation is very unclear.
"All I can do is show what I can do when pre-season starts and take it from there. I'm going to get my head down, roll up my sleeves and work hard - that's all I can do."
