Manchester City make stratospheric Eto’o bid!
11:57 AM 28 June, 2009
Manchester City Football Club have made a ‘stratospheric’ bid for Samuel Eto’o.

The mega-rich Blues have been linked with the Cameroon international for much of the summer, and now Barcelona have confirmed a huge offer has been made to the player.

"Eto'o has a stratospheric offer from City, which would convert him into the best paid player in the world," president Joan Laporta told Catalan radio station iCat FM.

"It's starting to become clear that he has this monster offer. An offer like this is very difficult to refuse. If Eto'o accepts this stratospheric offer we will have to bring in someone."

Maybe some of these super star players that City have been eyeing up will be happy to play in the EPL for one season without playing against the best in Europe. However, if City don't break in to the top 4 next season (because it will take a little time for a team of super stars to gel), I wonder how they would feel about playing for two seasons in the EPL without a sniff of European football. I imagine the super stars who will be REVOLUTIONIZING football will be asking themselves the same question.

Saying we are revolutionising is a bit much. Who cares what other people think about our club? We love City cos we grew up in Manchester supporting this club. I think it's great we are getting all these players, or at least being linked to them - it shows that other teams can compete, albeit with some cash injection but it's not about the money (surely every rag would be forced to agree that or accept the hypocrisy). It's about making our team the most entertaining team to watch - man we have had the bad times, let's see what the next few years brings - if people want to have a swipe at our team that's their issue, personally I have better things to do other than rant about other peoples' teams
