Aberdeen wait on midfielder decision
09:00 AM 30 June, 2009
Stephen Hughes is weighing up an offer from the Dons but is also wanted elsewhere.

Mark McGhee is keen to be re-united with his former Motherwell player and is set for talks with the 26-year-old.

"It's a difficult one because Stephen is well in demand but there are clubs with bigger pockets than Aberdeen," said director of football Willie Miller, quoted in the Daily Record.

"But Mark hopes to have a conversation with him about football.

"We've done that in the past and managed to persuade players to come here."

My mistake. First game he gave away a penalty against Dundee United. Second game he head butted someone.

Aberdeen are going downhill. Wullie Miller said no Scottish teams will be buying players this summer. Thats false. Thats just an excuse to use because Stewart Milne isn't wanting to cough up any money. Aberdeen have a ghost of a team. Season by season our best players disappear faster than fans on a game day. The past couple of seasons we took in a few million (Uefa cup, sale of the likes of Russell Anderson) and were promised money for players. The only player i think we've spent money on is Tommy Wright who's a complete thug (first game he head butted another player)
