Spurs try for £10million Manchester City striker?
12:00 PM 01 July, 2009
Tottenham Hotspur Football Club are set to renew their interest in Craig Bellamy.

Harry Redknapp was eager to sign the Wales international from West Ham United in the New Year, but the striker instead opted to join Manchester City for £10million.

The Blues have since signed Roque Santa Cruz for £18million and they are chasing Carlos Tevez and Samuel Eto’o, which could cost them a combined £50million.

Reports suggest Redknapp will now ask the Eastlands club about the availability of Bellamy, 29, with the view to taking him to White Hart Lane in the summer.

why is it every spurs thread I read has loads of comments from gooners - they are obviously worried about Spurs and in this case City. I couldn't care less about the goons - whether they do better than us or not, win every trophy available, at the end of the day they will still be the goons and who would want that. The sad fact is the Arse are a feeder club for Barca and AC, there stadium has surpassed the library for having no atmosphere, they will continue to trot out the "we ain't got no money" excuse despite playing in the champions league for season after season and paying loads for some Belgian or Hleb etc etc despite having no money. Not that I needed clarification, but this thread shows why I will forever be proud not to be a gooner - bad losers, crybabies, cheats and unable to have an arguement without swearing. Oh by the way - we don't need Bellamy, unless we are going to play long ball and hoof it down field for him to chase

Thank goodness the last two comments (correct at 20.10) have shown signs of decorum. Sentiment from both Arsenal, and it pains me to say, fellow Tottenham fans has been woeful. No one can string a sentence together without 'fucking'. I know, years ago, Stan Collymore couldn't string a pass together without fucking, but that's a different issue. We couldn't all tone it down a bit? I have nothing against healthy rivalry, aggression can be really quite beautiful. Just look at Henry V's soliloquy just before the siege at Harfleur; it's almost as gorgeously put together as Maradona's legal goal against England in 86. However, angry or not, please try and tune your language. All the journalists that feed us the whellbarrow-loads of lies we so readily believe have done the same.

Well written, Fingal! It's disgusting to read some of the posts with all the "flowery" language and the personal attacks on each other. We all support big respectable football clubs, and we are all entitled to our own opinion. Countering that opinion with respect for the writer is called "debating", but doing so with such colourful language is called "insulting". How would you feel if your football-crazy 12 year old son or daughter had to read a reply to their post and it contained nothing but sexual connotations? Besides, it also displays the lack of one's vocabulary.

ARSENAL 4 EVER and CITY CLOWNS, you are clearly one and the same individual. This site is for adults with an IQ above 50 - evidently you fail to meet either criteria. Now, run along and play with your plastic bricks or whatever it is you do when the nurse hasn't left the computer unattended.

ha ha ha ha ,these spuds! i dont know on what planet they r living ,cant even score more points than likes of westham, finish below fulham ,no fizzy-pop cup this time, spending mad money on below-avg players.no additions to ur squad this season.seriously i feel for u guys that u r in so much grasp of shortman complex and jealousy that u urself establish self-imagined problems at arsenal.everyone knows from last 2 seasons we had not got chance to play with full squad and still came very close to epl title and a fa cup and champ. league final.and next season deep down ur heart u kno what arsenal r capable of when fully fit.so,dont worry about us and take a long look at state of ur club slipping away each season.and stop giving childish comments ,talk like grown ups not some 10-12 yr kids.and what can i talk about city, who r they?

Wow. Looks like Arsenal fans are the new bitters! That rant was almost as funny as WHU fans calling us Unreal City as opposed to Real Madrid. How lame. Ive always said from when Chelsea were bought that its ok dissing the clubs who have wealthy owners and banging on about how its destroying football but is it happened to your team weather its Arsenal or Rochdale you would soon be talking from the other side of the fence. So to quote fro. a previous post, shut the fuck up. Crybaby.

arsenal are a plastic club with happy clapper wankers as fans.lets see how many you get when it starts to go tits up this season. such a great club that fabregas and adebayor would leave in a heartbeat if they could!your reaction tells me everything i need to know about how worried you are.i expect spurs to finish above arsenal this season, especially with bellamy up front rotating with defoe and keane, dont think gallas and silvestre will fancy that!

Arsenal probably won't finish 4th this season, if not it will be the season after. One they have good players in certain area's(Van persie, Fabregas- world class). But they need steel and a new defence. Vermalen is a questionable buy, not seen enough of him. Arsenal will still be up there, no one really knows where. As for City they eventually will become a major force, how they will attract the likes of Messi is in question but they will. Bellamy needs to go if we sign Eto'o and tevez because he will shout his mouth of as we all know.

HOW THE FUCK THESE CITY FANS HAVE AUDACITY TO TALK BACK AT ARSENAL FANS ,WITH HISTORY AND CLUB LIKE THEIRS IT WOULD BE SENSIBLE TO KEEP THEIR MOUTHS SHUT.FIRST GO AND WIN 13 LEAGUE TITLES OR EVEN FINISH ABOVE US THEN TALK ,UNTIL THEN RETURN TO LONELINESS U AND UR CLUB WERE ALWAYS IN.AND WHATVER U DO NOW IS NOT REAL WORTH OF UR TINY CLUB BUT FROM ARTIFICIAL RESOURCES U WILL B NEVER BIGGER THAN LIKES OF QPR OR MILWALL.

I think you will find that when the Hill-Woods moved to the South of England they bought Arsenal and made them the richest club around with the ability to out bid everyone else. This is the only reason why Arsenal had success, City are doing the same so shut the fuck up!

how the hell can u go on about arsenal, quite frankly ur a disgrace. ur team is goin downhill and half of ur players are currently bein linked with a move away. tbh mate id rather support city than arsenal as we look far more likely to get higher next season than you.

dear china arsenal town, i think you will find that manchester city have always had a very strong and loyal fanbase; when relegated to the second division they still averaged an attendance higher that a significant amount of premiership teams. i have a lot of respect for arsenal and the way they play football, it has come to light recently however, now that they are likely to face strong competition for the fourth champions league place from the likes of aston villa and manchester city, that they have a number of very jealous and may i say ignorant supporters. unfortunately arsenal are not the force they once were, where they once had the worlds best, henry, bergkamp, overmars and viera, they now have bendtnar, eboue, diaby and silvestre. i wish them luck for the coming seasons but if wenger isn't able to bring in a number of new faces i cannot see arsenal hanging onto that fourth spot for very long. j oh and in response to the actualy article i cannot see bellamy being sold by manchester city. while they do have a number of strikers i feel that currently there are weaker players in the same position that the club are likely to offload first (benjani, evans, and possibly caicedo and bojinov).

If we do manage to get Tevez and Eto'o (which I doubt we will) then I think we might as well let him go. He would be down the pecking order, is injured too often and if he doesn't get picked when he is fit, he will kick off.
