West Ham United – the good, the bad and the downright unacceptable
02:00 PM 02 July, 2009
Fans FC is asking West Ham United fans to reveal their good, their bad and their downright unacceptable about their club.

The good can be that fully-committed midfield workhorse who you just know would reject the mega-riches of Real Madrid to stay at your club.

The bad could be that ageing fullback who hasn’t had a decent game for your club for the past five seasons, but just so happens to be a manager’s favourite.

And the downright unacceptable can be anything from another mammoth hike in your season ticket price to that awful yellow and pink third away strip.

So using the comments box below, tell us about your club’s good, bad and downright unacceptable.

THE GOOD? Zola, Clarke, Nani & Duxbury. Seem to have formed a great understanding and Zola is starting to get us playing the right way again - what was Curbs doing? THE BAD? Lack of atmosphere and sometimes the boo boys (Savio will be great for us). THE UGLY? The treatment table, who knows where we would have finished if our injuries had been at an average for the premiership oh and the new away shirt...

The good - we are West Ham! we play like West Ham! The new management style of Duxbury, Zola and Nani! The bad - the fans not getting behind the team, but getting on the players backs; the revolving injury list; the greed of Premiership players in general. The downright ugly - Sheffield United; the meat pies (who ate them?); the bigots. Come On You IRONS !!

The Good - I agree Zola! LOve watching the Appies now he is at the helm. The Bad is the laundry list of overpaid players getting splinters on the bench all year. The Ugly is the prospect of Dean Ashton wearing the Claret and Blue again - should have listened to Capello, he is overweight and will continue to break down till he lays off the fish n chips! Agree with the earlier comment about Sears and warnock - wtf?

The good: Renewed team spirit & style of play (Zola) The bad: Repetitive injuries to what might be key players if they ever played more than 2 games at a time. Downright unacceptable: The way the media deals with anything West Ham related in a negative way. I don't believe for a minute that chelsea were considering Zola for Chelsea job, but in his 10 month career he's been linked with the manager's job twice. Within 2 hours of the latest takeover, we were being told that we would be going into administration and would have to sell our top players, and had no money for new players, and everyone wanted to leave the club, and that the tea lady had failed to agree a contract extension because she wanted 7.50 an hour, but the club would not break their pay structure.

Don't understand the Luis Boa Morte comment. He was one of our better players in the second half of the season. Oh well, it's all about opinions i suppose, but give the guy a break. It's a pity other players didn't try so hard, most fans were won over by the end of the season though, so those who watch the boys every week appreciate what he did. Agree with the boss being the good, the bad would be the injuries, the ugly is the fans that would rather chant anti Chelsea (for example) songs when we play them, rather than getting behind and encouraging OUR team. Never understood that, just makes the opposition play better.

The good is the style of play which has been transformed under Zola and Clarke. The bad is the appaulling atmosphere and lack of support at home games. The downright unacceptable is the way we caved into the blunts which has had and still will have ramifications.

The good has to be Gianfranco Zola: An Italien who actually wants to play viewable football and qho is quite likeable too. The bad? Lucas "Money talks" Neill who diden't reject Liverpool to join West Ham due to lack of wage, but when push came to shove, he has left the club because of wage demands. And finally, the downright unacceptable is Luis Boa Morte who just won't leave! Hull City wanted him, but could and would not match the wage West Ham is paying. Boa Morte came at a time of crisis and his wages reflect that, but his talents dosen't.
