After selling Roque Santa Cruz to Man City, Blackburn are looking for someone to fill his goalscoring boots.
Rovers boss Sam Allardyce told Sky Sports News: "We are looking at our key players and big players to be available most of the time.
"That's going to be a key to the success of the season we're going to have, so what we want to do is get them as match fit as we possibly can."
In a previous interview, Allardyce ruled out signing Michael Owen due to his poor injury record in recent seasons.
Allardyce is looking at other strikers though, as he admitted: "If all the money I have available has to go on a striker, it all has to go on a striker.
"We're not going to sign more players in any other positions just yet until we've secured the player upfront."
