City confirm interest in Tottenham Hotspur defender

Alex McLeish admits he would like Gareth Bale at Birmingham City Football Club.

The Welsh international has been linked with a loan move to St Andrews this summer, and McLeish admits he likes the young Tottenham Hotspur fullback.

"Gareth Bale is another name we'd have to consider if he was available," the Blues manager, eager to boost his squad following promotion last season, told Sky Sports.

I think Gareth Bales a terrific player. Sure he's had bad luck at Spurs but that's all the more reason to stay and fight his way into the team. I think he should have a season on loan at Birmingham as being under McLeish would be a great learning experience for him although i don't want him to be sold by Spurs.
