Defender quit United for first team football – agent
David Edgar joined Burnley Football Club in the hope of becoming a regular starter.
The 22-year-old was out of contract at Newcastle United this summer, and he has soon found himself another club by penning a four-year contract with the Clarets.
"I'd say he's pretty happy,” agent Barry MacLean told The Record. "We are looking for him to play regularly at this stage of his career. To play regular first-team football is critical for him."
The Premier League new-boys will still have to pay a compensation figure to United for Edgar, as he is under 24, and the two clubs are said to be currently thrashing this out.
