Stoke City Football Club are not looking to sign Obafemi Martins.

The Britannia Stadium club have been linked with the Newcastle United striker, but chairman Peter Coates has rubbished claims he is to bid for the Nigerian international.

"There's nothing in that one. We haven't had contact or discussions about him at all,” he told The Sentinel. "I don't know where the story has come from, but there is no substance to it.”
