Manchester City wait for green light in £25million deal
03:46 PM 02 July, 2009
Manchester City Football Club are prepared to be patient to land Samuel Eto’o.

The Blues are ready to pay £25million for the Barcelona star and make him the highest-paid player in the world, but they are waiting to see if the striker will leave the Camp Nou.

"We have made an offer but there appears to be a situation between the player and his club that we cannot be part of," manager Mark Hughes told Sky Sports News.

"We just have to sit back and see what develops. Patience is a word that has been mentioned and we may need some of it."

Why would you want to sign Toni if you already have Cruz, he's a complete clone. People who think Eto'o doesnt have options must be completely deluded. Eto'o doesnt have to leave Barca, all the top clubs will be fighting for him next season when he leaves for free. Why do you think Barca are trying to extend his contract, not because they want to keep him, but for the transfer fee!

To hear Chelski tell it, we have offered them £30 mill for John Terry and (thankfully) they have fired us off. That money would be better used on helping Barca out with these wretched loyalty bonus obligations they are said to owe to Eto. It wouldn't cost us anywhere near £30 mill to do that and we'd be getting a genuinely world class player for our efforts. John Terry, on the other hand, is a crock.

The richest club in the universe can wait just a little but not much longer. ETO'O can either reconcile with his club or he can wave our offer bye bye. We have other options, he does not. Better put his what is best for me head on and sign up or we walk away like the Ka Ka deal. Life is hard but we are beyong suffering fool's.

Lucy Toni is vastly over-rated. No, I'll amend that, he's fairly useless. For a guy of his physique he doesn't put himself about and certainly doesn't score enough
