Manchester United seeking £12million Real Madrid favour?
12:30 PM 03 July, 2009
Manchester United Football Club may ask Real Madrid about Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez have both left Old Trafford this summer, whilst targets Karim Benzema and Franck Ribery both appear to prefer Real Madrid.

Reports suggest the Reds will now turn to the Spanish giants in a bid to persuade them to sell Huntelaar, the Dutch international striker, for around £12million this summer.

red Rupert. Berbatov was the laziest player in the tottenham side and he's not any better at Man U. I cannot agree with you about Owen rattling goals in but that remains to be seen. For me he's lost a yard and being really injury prone I have serious doubts. regards Baggyshorts

Real footy fans have been saying for the last 2 years that Man U are not the biggest club they think they are. If so then why are the worlds best players playing in Spain and ol' granite head looking for spanish cast off's. The top players in this country are the likes of Torres and Alonso, can't remember where they came from

Owen and Berbatov is gonna be an excellent partnership although I too am not too happy about Rooney being kept wide. Perhaps there'll be room for flexibility there with Rooney playing behind Berb and owen coming off the bench - but really, I don't honestly see Owen as a bench warmer because I think he'll be rattling goals in

I thought Berbatov hid in midfield last season, played far too deep when he was bought to score goals whilst linking up our forward play. I'm sorry but his goal threat was pretty tame last season either for assists or goals - can't recall any headed goals. I really thought he could make a Cantona type impression but how blindly optimistic I was. Not to totaly slate the guy I think the tactical choices didn't help his style. Bring back 4-4-2 - anyone else bored of this 4-5-1 dross? _______ Good call touting Moutinho he's a great midfielder, personally I also wish we'd gone for Diego (that's why Juve don't want Alonso; but why anyone wouldn't want Alonso is beyond me... the guy oozes class).____________________________________________________________________ If UTD add Costa and Aguero + 1 midfielder to Owen and Valencia will we be OK ???__________________________________________________________ Anyone seen that Turkish Arda character that we've been linked with, he looks OK on You Tube!__________________________________________________________Ashley Young would be a cool signing too !

the need for a striker so great we have no need for a striker berba and rooney anyone will start upfront together huever we buy berba had a class season which is overlooked by many without him we would not be champions, the reason for not hitting 25 plus goals he was not played as a centre forward but played behind ronaldo or rooney up top useing his skill to bag 14 assists and link midfield to attack next season will see rooney and berba up top or maybe rooney an owen with berba behind the only position we are cryign out for is a left winger

We do need an out and out goal scorer, but i dont think Huntelaar is the answer. He's good a finishing but he's not a player that defenders fear due to his technical abillity. To compete in the Champs league with Barca and Madrid this year (as well as an improving prem league) we need to spend bigger! Nilmar and Aguero top my wishlist. We need more technical ability in the midfield too, Anderson had a bad season last year in terms of his developement as a player. Joao Moutinio from sporting would do the trick!!

He also scored 18 in 22 at international under 21 level and 13 in 23 at full international level. He ain't rubbish

It would be Huntelaar OR Owen up front. Both would rarely play at the same time I'd have thought as they would be challenging for the same spot. The only worry is that it might mean Rooney again getting pushed out to the wing which would be bad. I'd be interested to see Rooney - Huntelaar up front. Maybe we could try and tempt Bayern to swap Ribery for Berbatov :-D Berbatov is provbably pretty well thought of out there after his successful German spell. I imagine you'd have to drag him kicking and screaming though!!! does anyone else get annoyed when you can't see all of the word verification characters in the space available. This is my 6th attempt now and I still have to guess tha last character cos it gets chopped off. Sort it out ffs

8 in 20 at Real isn't a bad return. have a look on youtube to see clips of him. He ain't fast but he certainly knows where the goal is and he is often in the right place at the right time. We need an out and out scorer as Rooney and Berba are both second strikers really. I'm up for giving Huntelaar a shot, particularly as we are struggling to attract other players. plus he is relatively cheap

Huntelaar and Owen up front? Not a particularly scary prospect for any defenders. I don't think I will be going to Old Trafford much next year. It's such a long way for me to get there from Surrey.

It's in the intrest of all parties. The palyer needs to play and Man U are a great club and he will have UEFA CL oppurtunity. Man U need a striker and Real Madrid wants to recoup some of the spending

Please NO NO NO. We shouldn't take any of Madrids cast offs. I've never seen this guy play (cause he never gets picked) but I've seen his poor scoring record outside the Dutch league (remember Kezman). Let them get themselves out of debt - this is tantamout to a player plus cash deal with Ronaldo for Huntelaar plus 65M. Huntelaar is just Berbatov without any skill (ie, the one at UTD last season) Hunelarr and Owen - not gonna strike fear into many opponents. The midfield aint so hot either but this seems to be completely overlooked as the need for a striker is so great!
