£30million striker reveals Manchester United snub
12:41 PM 04 July, 2009
Karim Benzema claims to have snubbed the chance to join Manchester United.

The France international was linked with a move to Old Trafford from Lyon for much of the summer, but last week he agreed a £30million deal to move to Real Madrid.

"Indeed, I could have joined Manchester United, Barcelona, Internazionale or AC Milan, but Real are unique. Everyone is dreaming to play at Real,” said Benzema.

"I really wanted to stay at Lyon until the next World Cup. The opportunity to play with stars like Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo and so many great players, made me change my mind.

"I am eager to be at the training-sessions, wear that shirt, and play the first league match. I know I will join a new world. I want to make a name for myself as quickly as possible."

Actually United are much bigger: Larger fan-base and higher market-value... :http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forbes%27_list_of_the_most_valuable_football_clubs If it weren't for Glazers ideo of letting the club pay his loans United wold be able to pay A LOT more in salaries and transfers, and therefore also making the squad better... But £900m debts and £62m a year due to the banks will cost A LOT as well... But looking at it objectively: the higher revenues will with time make United a far better team.
