Manchester City line up whopping £40million Terry bid?
04:30 PM 04 July, 2009
Manchester City Football Club are said to be lining up a £40million bid for John Terry.

Chelsea last week confirmed they had rejected an offer from the Eastlands club for the Stamford Bridge skipper, but they are expecting another bid in the coming days.

It is being suggested that City will offer a mammoth £40million bid for Terry, 28, who could earn a staggering £300,000-per-week if he makes the move to Manchester.

Southrn Bue, I'm with you there mate. No way will he go and join them nouveau riche northerners. You must admit though..it must be tempting. I know what I'd do if I were JT! 300K/week and the knowledge that although city aren't in the Champ league yet, they almost certainly will qualify next year. In fact, thinking about it, he'd be daft to stay!

We all know that JT is Chelsea through and through. I don't think he won't leave chelsea..I know it! And so does every chelsea fan around the world! If JT was to leave Chelea what would it say about out team? In fact I'm so sure of JT's loyalty to chelsea that I if JT leaves chelsea for M.City I will publicly burn my chelsea sdhirt and become a Man City fan.....and so will all my mates!

City are absolute idiots!! Terry will only go for money if he does!! he loves chelsea and if he does leave it wont be for the club it will be for financial reasons city are a waste of a football club hope u burn!!! leave our best players alone go find your own you thieves!!!

We've got plenty of those. We've got something called an academy. You must have a bad memory. You nicked Shawn Wright-Philips, and now Daniel Sturrige, on the cheap. We'll continue to 'find our own' thank very much. Not so good that the boot's on the other foot, is it? Or are you just trying to be hypocritical? Terry probably won't come anyway, but it's quite entertaining to see the effects of the City 'fear factor' spread across so many pages of tabloid puke. It's all a joke anyway, isn't it? Football was ruined by Stan Mathews moving to Blackpool for huge money, by DiStefano moving to Real Madrid, by Jimmy Hill fighting against the wage cap, and winning, by Abramovich buying the world, and throwing stones from your little glass house on Fulham Broaway isn't going to help you at the moment. You'd be better to use it to start growing things in.

"...perhaps he'll see City as the next British club to win the Champions League." Wrong. They'd be the first arab club. Calling City British is like calling Sony "British", just because they have a factory here. Laughable. At least Abramovich is based in England. City's sheik is back home with his selection of wives.

Abramovich is based anywhere the fancy takes him. HE really could 'disappear' overnight. Based in 'England', what a joke. Actually, what a jerk. We really are splitting hairs now. Soon we'll be talking about whether double standards are better than triple standards?!! Gone are the days. The level playing field was abolished some time ago. Welcome to the Colliseum!

City can do to Chelsea what Chelsea have been doing to other clubs for years... City can outbid Chelsea for anyone now and Roman knows it. Remember taking SWP well maybe your about to find out what it feels like when John Terry changes his shirt for a lighter shade of blue next season. Any players signing on for City are not interested in 'have beens' they are players with real ambition. Chelsea could not satisfy JT with the big prize so perhaps he'll see City as the next British club to win the Champions League.

LOL, players with ambitions that is hilarious taking in account Craig Bellamy for 14 million, he has no ambitions at all, now man city can be linked to all tge superstars in the world, but they wont get any of them unless they are hungry for money (robinho), city is a joke of a club and they will be no where near the top 4, oh wait top 6 next season. I mean u guys arent even in europe, that is laughable.

Lol,man city are and mark hughes are pathetic!! they won't even go close to being in the big 4 even with the squad they are getting.Hughes is an arrogant bighead anyway, even tho i'm a chelsea supporter through and through. And as for city wanting terry, they got NO!! chance,he's a chelsea man to the core, always will be and as he says his life is chealsea....

Not being funny but chelsea fans are saying that terry would never want to move.. Something or someone must be encouraging city because this £40m bid would be the 3rd bid for him, they only bid for kaka once , he told them no, they left it. surley someone is encouraging them (wether it be JT or his agent).. personally i think this one is far from over, dont no if it will happen but there will certainly be twists and turns throughout. JT is a top centre back, and i know city fans dont like him but if i had too choose between richard dunne or John terry?? No matter how much i love dunnie, he is unreliable and inconsistent, would love JT at city, natural leader and talent! CTID!

im not saying terry isnt a good player... but he's not worth that amount of money no footballer is. If he came to city, i know i'd give up my season ticket i

Man. City fans... add up every penny you have spent on football in your entire lifetimes. Every ticket, every programme, every pre-game meal and beer, every drop of petrol, every scarf and train fare, every meat pie... add it all up and cry. Because ALL OF IT, the totla of everything you've spent on following your team throughout your life, will not add up to one week's salary for Terry. In fact, NOT EVEN ONE DAY'S SALARY. If that's not sick, I don't know what is.

Sounds to me like Chelsea fans are running scared. City's owners make Roman look like he earns paperboy's wages. Move over City are the big club on the scene from now on.

I am holding out for the highest paying offer, my agent contacted Sheikh Mansour Bin Zahyad Al Nayhan and Garry (Cook) last week in order to secure a high paying backup deal in case my current club do not offer the sufficient demands. I personally do not wish to stay here, due to the arrival of Carlo Ancelotti, who is interested in providing an Italian defence, with the brazilian 'Maicon' on right wing. Please urge your club to sign me, city supporters, i really wish to move on.
