Paul Gallagher has been told he could have a future at Blackburn Rovers Football Club.

The striker spent last season on loan at Plymouth Argyle, but the departures of Roque Santa Cruz and Matt Derbyshire could grant him the chance to impress at Ewood Park.

"It's down to Paul," boss Sam Allardyce told the club's official website. "He had one of the brightest futures of any young player here many years ago under Graeme Souness.

"The talent is not in question, the desire to be a Premier League player is what Paul needs to have. If he can show that then we have a terrific player at Blackburn."
