Former Manchester United star urges Huntelaar swoop
01:30 PM 10 July, 2009
Arnold Muhren believes Klaas-Jan Huntelaar would be a big hit for Manchester United.

The Reds have been heavily linked with the €20million-rated Real Madrid striker and Muhren, who won the FA Cup with United in 1983, believes this would be a great deal.

"The way the market has gone this summer then Klaas-Jan would be an absolute bargain at that kind of price," he told The Manchester Evening News.

"If United are looking to replace the goals lost through Cristiano Ronaldo's sale then Huntelaar comes as near as you can get with a guarantee to score them.

"He's a goalscorer. I believe he can score goals at any level. If you give him the right service in the box then nine times out of ten he will score.

"I really do think it would work for United. I still love the club and want them to be successful and I think with Huntelaar he'd get the goals to keep United in front."

I dont care much for huntelaar . I think if we had to sign one player it would be Kun Aguero he can play anywhere across the front line he costs alot (45mil euros) but he is very young and has huge potential definately give him the number 7 shirt no problem . Does anyone agree?

Although I believe we need another striker for when Owen gets injured; I would hate to shove Welbeck and Kiko out. Are Kiko and Welbeck good enough to step up full time this season or do we need another striker? Welbeck still looks like he is not yet the finished article and is still developing and Kiko looked devastating whilst coming on as sub, but seemed to fade when coming on for a full match. However this could just be a case of having to adapt to a higher level of match fitness and it could be just that he lacks stamina being only 17? He certainly has the build to hold his own in the Premiership. However I have not seen enough of them to create a consolidated opinion on this - Does anyone who has been watching the reserves regularly have any views on this?

i watch the reserves all the time and i can say that kiko and wellbeck are not ready to play 90 minutes in 1st team all thro the season. we have alot of gr8 young players in the reserves, the best youth players in the premier mayb even the world, but still would rather them carry on in reserves till after this season and then push thro the ranks. gibson is the only 1 this season that is ready to step up to the 1st team and he is a class player i can see him moulding into a gareth barry but better shooting. i think we need to sign 1 more striker then we should be fine, dont forget 2 that we hav tosic and ljajic(little kaka) pushin into first team this season, with our 3 new signings owen obertan valencia so ITS ALL GOOD UTD 4 PREM AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
