Marcus Hahnemann is ready to fight for the number one shirt at Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club this season.

The American goalkeeper has joined the Molineux club from Reading, and he is ready to push Wayne Hennessy all the way for a place in the first team.

“I need to play,” Hahnemann told the Sunday Mercury. "That's one of the reasons why I came here because I wanted to play and it's a chance to get back in the Premier League.

"I'm not used to sitting around on the bench. It is a different situation for me that I haven't been in for a while, but it's going to be a great challenge."
