Manchester City confirm Carlos Tevez capture
08:11 PM 13 July, 2009
Carlos Tevez has agreed a five-year contract at Manchester City Football Club.

The Argentine international has spent the last two seasons on loan at city rivals United, but he failed to agree a permanent deal with the Reds last month.

Tevez made no secret of his disappointment at not being considered a first team regular under Sir Alex Ferguson, and he will be hoping for better luck at Eastlands.

"It is terrific news," Mark Hughes told the club's official website. "Carlos is an international player of the highest class who possesses all the attributes that will help drive this club forward.

"He is not only outstanding technically, but he is a reliable goalscorer and someone who will contribute fully to the team ethic. He gives us another exciting, attacking dimension.

"I cannot wait to welcome him to City. This is yet another deal that shows the commitment of the owner Sheikh Mansour to make this club the very best it can possibly be.

“I am sure our fans will give Carlos an exceptionally warm welcome."

denistueartsfootballboots. calling us 'rags' Ha! We will see. Sure your money may buy you success but be aware that one day, that Arab fella may just get bored and leave you in the lurch. Look at: Leeds... When was the last time Chelski won the League and whatever happened to Blackburn? In the end class will prevail. I wasn't one of those screaming to keep him. Sure he gives 100% but so does Joey Barton! I saw Tevez miss from the goal-line last season. Sure he is a good player, sure he works his sox off... but sure he is worth the hike in wages?... Nah you are welcome to him. And if you don't guarantee him a CL Final in the next few years or a Premiership... watch this space; that's what I was saying. Paying OTT wages won't guarantee you success long-term and I bet Terry is only speaking to your lot to try and scare more money out of Chelski. Let's just see what the Tevez situation is in 2 years time eh? He was a squad player at man U and when he gets to you he will be your top player... Nuff said!

A FIVE Year deal?! Dream on City. He will be haggling for more money or a big money move within 18 months. Ask West ham and ask Man U.
