Barnsley shuffle pack

Barnsley are considering moves for striker Andy Gray and defender Lewin Nyatanga and have handed trials to Maxime Chanot and David Preece.

31-year old Charlton striker Gray has scored nine goals for the Addicks and his manager Phil Parkinson said, "We're in discussions about a possible deal."

Derby's Nyatanga has spent several spells on loan with Barnsley and looks set to depart Pride Park. Bristol City is thought his most likely destination at the present time.

French defender Chanot was released by Sheffield United at the end of the season and 32-year old former Aberdeen goalkeeper Preece has spent the last three seasons in Denmark with Silkeborg IF and OB Odense.

Davey told the club's official website: "We have the two trialists out here with us, Maxime Chanot and David Preece, and they will train with us this week.

"We are still working towards bringing in new faces and are on the phone over here trying to see what we can do. We will have to see what happens."
