Sunderland forced to accept defeat in Bramble pursuit
04:00 PM 14 July, 2009
Titus Bramble has signed a new contract at Wigan Athletic Football Club.

Steve Bruce, the former Latics manager, was keen to take the former Newcastle United defender to Sunderland during the summer transfer window.

However, the Black Cats are set to miss out on Bramble who, along with fellow defender Emmerson Boyce, has signed a new contract at the DW Stadium.

"I've been really happy here, and I feel really settled," said Bramble on the official club site. "I never wanted to go anywhere else and I'm really looking forward to the new season. These are exciting times for the club and I'm glad to be a part of it."

Not sure what you would could Steve Bruce then - who is a maggie through and through - don't be too surprised when he ups and leaves you too. Also, have you ever watched Richard Dunne regularly? Good luck if you get him!
