Nigel Clough will make another effort to sign Blackpool centre-half Shaun Barker, and is allowing both Lewin Nyatanga and Claude Davis to leave Pride Park to make room in his squad.

"We're still talking," Clough told BBC Radio Derby when asked about 26-year-old Barker.

"Hopefully we are getting closer to a deal."

Davis is in talks to terminate his Derby deal while Nyatanga is discussing a move to Championship rivals Bristol City.

The Rams, in action against Arnold Town on Tuesday night meanwhile, have also sold striker Liam Dickinson to Brighton.
