It comes as little to surprise to learn Steven Gerrard is desperate to lift the Premier League trophy for Liverpool Football Club before he retires.

The Reds have not won the championship since 1989/90 and Gerrard, 29, is determined to put this right before he calls time on his fine career on Merseyside.

"I still have many more dreams, and that means winning the Premier League because that is the only medal that is missing from my collection," Gerrard told UEFA's official website.

“And I want another success in the Champions League too.”
