Mikel ready to star for Ancelotti’s Chelsea
John Obi Mikel is happy to play his part for Carlo Ancelotti’s Chelsea Football Club.
The 22-year-old Nigerian international midfielder has signed a new deal which keeps him with the Blues until 2014, and he is clearly excited at working with Ancelotti.
The Italian coach looks set to change the long-standing 4-3-3 formation at Stamford Bridge to a more traditional 4-4-2, and Mikel is confident he can become a key part to this plan.
“The new manager wants us to play in a certain formation which we need to get used to before the season starts,” he told the official club website.
"The new formation doesn't make too much difference to me in defensive midfield, but I have to cover more ground for the team, but I am up to the task and I am sure I can do it."
