West Ham United hopeful over Tristan
West Ham United Football Club hope to tie up a deal for Diego Tristan, if he can prove his fitness.
The former Spanish international is a free agent after leaving Italian side Livorno, and he is training with the Hammers in the hope of landing a short-term contract with the Premier League side.
"Diego's working very hard and we're pleased with him,” said manager Gianfranco Zola. "He could be a good alternative. He's got a lot of experience and skills. He can do well as long as he gets fit."
Now 32-years-old, Tristan was regarded as one of the most lethal strikers in European football during his time with Deportivo La Coruna, where he scored 78 goal in 177 appearances.
