Yossi Benayoun wants to be remembered as a key member of the Liverpool Football Club side which won the Premier League title in 2010.

After missing out to Manchester United in heartbreaking circumstances last season, the Merseyside club are eager to make amends this time around.

And Benayoun, who enjoyed a fine 2008/09 campaign despite the ultimate disappointment, is eager to go down as an Anfield legend by playing his part in the coming months.

"I have a lot of confidence in this team," the Israel international told the official club website. "We have a belief in the squad that we can win the league.

“But we have to work hard and keep improving. Personally I want this to be an even better season for me. I want to take my chances and help the team."
