Phil Brown insists Hull City Football Club have not been in touch with Mark Viduka.

The Australian forward is available on a free transfer following the end of his Newcastle United contract, and his agent claims two Premier League clubs are interested.

Hull have endured a difficult time in the summer trying to acquire a new striker, but Brown insists reports linking them with Viduka is mere speculation.

"Mark is out of contract and therefore a free agent and able to talk to anybody. I've not had a conversation with Mark or his agent," Brown told the Hull Daily Mail.

"If we were interested in Mark Viduka, we'd pick the phone up and speak to Mark Viduka because he's not attached to any football club and that hasn't happened."
