Aston Villa Football Club boss Martin O’Neill insists Emile Heskey has not picked up a serious injury.

The England international lasted just seven minutes of the 1-0 Peace Cup defeat to Malaga before being stretchered off, but O’Neill insists the forward was suffering from a mild bout of concussion.

"Emile is feeling a lot better," O'Neill told the club's official website.

"He was a bit disorientated and we felt that it was best to take him off at that time. But he is feeling much better. We will have to monitor it each day, but I don't think he would be ruled out at this stage."
