Manchester United boss admits Berbatov mistake
Sir Alex Ferguson admits he may not have used Dimitar Berbatov correctly last season.
The Manchester United boss paid the best part of £31million to take the Bulgarian from Tottenham Hotspur in January, but the striker failed to convince the Old Trafford faithful.
Berbatov, though, has looked excellent in pre-season, and this has led Ferguson to admit he may not have used the 28-year-old to his strengths last term.
"I expected the form that we have seen from Berbatov so far in pre-season,” he said in the Manchester Evening News. "Last season was a strange one for him and maybe we didn't use him in the right way.
"But we know exactly how to use him now, further up the pitch, playing as a centre-forward. I really think Berbatov will have a terrific season for us.”
