Tom Huddlestone is only too happy to play in the heart of the Tottenham Hotspur back four.

With Michael Dawson and Jonathan Woodgate injured and Ledley King yet to feature in pre-season, Harry Redknapp has hinted that he may ask the 22-year-old to play at centre-half.

This is a role Huddlestone has played in before and, if he is asked to line up there when the season begins in a little over a fortnight, he would gladly do so.

"I played quite a few games there for Derby County before I came to Tottenham Hotspur but it is just a case of getting used to it again," he said.

"If the manager is struggling with players for the beginning of the season and he wants me to do the job there then I will work on it in training. I do feel fairly comfortable there."
