Paul Gallagher could be on his way to Derby County Football Club.

The Scotland international cap has been at Blackburn Rovers since 2002, but has been loaned out to Stoke City, Preston North End and Plymouth Argyle during this time.

The departures of Roque Santa Cruz and Matt Derbyshire this summer was expected to give the 24-year-old another chance at Ewood Park, but he could be set for another loan spell.

It is being suggested in The Mirror that Nigel Clough is set to make an offer to take Gallagher to Pride Park for the 2008/09 campaign, as he looks to launch a promotion bid with the Rams.
