Carragher backs Manchester City transfer deals
03:00 PM 04 August, 2009
Jamie Carragher has no complaints about Manchester City’s summer spending spree.

The Blues have spent almost £100million on Carlos Tevez, Emmanuel Adebayor, Roque Santa Cruz, Kolo Toure and Gareth Barry this summer, as they look to gatecrash the Big Four.

This has led to criticism that Mark Hughes’s side are simply trying to buy success, but Liverpool star Carragher admits to being impressed with how the Eastlands side are rebuilding their squad.

“I think Mark Hughes has been very,” he told The People. “After bringing in a lot of top-quality players from abroad last season he's concentrated on players who have seen the Premier League before.

"Tevez, Adebayor, Barry, Toure and Santa Cruz all know what this league's about. I think everyone in football will be interested to see how they go on this season. It's an exciting time for City fans.

“But it will also be exciting for everyone else. I can't wait to see who else they buy and how Mark Hughes fits them all into a formation because that's the big question everybody's asking."

It certainly will be interested to see how Hughes’s side takes shape when they travel to Blackburn Rovers on the opening day of the season...so City fans, what would be YOUR line-up?
