Bassong sets heart on Tottenham Hotspur
Sky Sports reckon Sebastien Bassong has set his heart on a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
It was reported at the weekend that Harry Redknapp had made an offer of £10million for the French defender, which was rejected by Newcastle United.
The Spurs boss later denied all knowledge of this offer, but a move to White Hart Lane could well be in the offing before the start of the season a week on Saturday.
Redknapp needs to bolster his rearguard due to injury concerns over Jonathan Woodgate, Michael Dawson and Ledley King, all of whom could miss the start of the new season.
Sky Sports claim Bassong has set his heart on a move to the North London side, which could speed his departure from the relegated Magpies during the next week or so.
