Carrick convinced by new Manchester United duo
05:00 PM 05 August, 2009
Michael Carrick is convinced Michael Owen and Antonio Valencia will shine for Manchester United.

Ecuadorian international Valencia arrives at Old Trafford from Wigan Athletic in a £16million deal, and will be expected to help fill the loss of Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid.

Whilst that signing was expected, the deal for former Liverpool ace Owen, on a free transfer from Newcastle United, was a shock, but he has scored freely in pre-season.

"Michael’s already done really well," Carrick told United Review ahead of the Valencia friendly at Old Trafford on Wednesday. "He’s a top player and I’m sure he’ll score lots of goals for us.

"Antonio joined us a little later for training so I’ve only seen a bit of him so far, but he's already shown what great qualities he has and I’m sure he’ll be a huge success."

Do you know what this might sound weird but ? i think its a good job that ronaldo has left because Man utds players will now have to get the goals thereselves and they wont have a crybaby and this is coming from a Man Utd fan. Just look at Valencia's cross yesterday! When did we ever see ronaldo do that for us ? Go on Antonio win us the treble !
