Sunderland Football Club have held talks with Lucas Neill.

The Australian international is out of contract following the end of his West Ham United deal, although he has been discussing a potential return to Upton Park.

However, Sky Sports claim the Hammers could be beaten to Neill by Premier League rivals Sunderland, who are said to have held talks with the 31-year-old.
