Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club are closing on James Harper.

Mick McCarthy wanted to sign the Reading midfielder in the New Year, and whilst nothing materialised of this interest, it looks as though the Molineux boss could have better luck this time round.

"He travelled up to meet with Mick,” Royals boss Brendan Rodgers told the Reading Chronicle.

“There is interest there. He went up to speak to them yesterday but now he is back training with us. He spoke to Mick and they are keen to get him but at the moment it is still in the balance."
