Leicester City Football Club have signed Martyn Waghorn on loan.

The 19-year-old has made five appearances for Sunderland to date, and Steve Bruce was keen to loan him out so he can gain regular first team football elsewhere.

After rejecting the chance to link up with Carlisle United in League One Waghorn has agreed a deal with the Foxes, and he will remain at the Walkers Stadium until January.

"He has trained with us and did very well," boss Nigel Pearson told the club's official website. "He was on loan at Charlton last year and is someone who comes in and will have a positive effect."
