Carrick hails Manchester United squad
06:00 PM 11 August, 2009
Michael Carrick has hailed the strength of the Manchester United Football Club squad.

The Reds have lost Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez this summer, but Carrick is far from worried about the remaining talent at Sir Alex Ferguson’s disposal.

"I don't think it (the squad) can be questioned,” said the midfielder. “The gaffer has assembled a fantastic group, and the strength and depth here is second to none.

"Obviously losing Cristiano was disappointing because he's been a huge player for us, but we've got a lot of top players here to deal with that and still be successful."

Sir Alex must bring in one more 'proven' striker to pair-up with Rooney, else Man U will face serious goal scoring problems notwithstanding the depth of the squad. Absence of Tevez leaves a big hole unless Fergie plugs it with another quality striker.
