Sunderland urged to step up Distin interest
Sunderland Football Club have been urged to step up their interest in Sylvain Distin.
Steve Bruce is keen to take the Portsmouth defender to the Stadium of Light this summer, and former Pompey boss Tony Adams, who was sacked last season, has urged him to act quickly.
"If I was Steve Bruce I would sign him tomorrow,” Adams told the Shields Gazette. "Sylvain might be in his 30s now, but I reckon he's still got another two or three years left in him at the highest level.
"He's certainly someone who is comfortably a top-half-of-the-table player, and if Sunderland are looking to bring in a player who can improve them, then he fits the bill."
