Should Chelsea have moved for Michael Owen?
03:00 PM 13 August, 2009
John Terry is wary of Michael Owen’s move to Manchester United Football Club.

Eyebrows were raised when Sir Alex Ferguson signed the former Liverpool star this summer, when his contract expired at Newcastle United and he moved to Old Trafford for free.

However, Chelsea skipper Terry, fresh from celebrating Community Shield success at the expense of the Reds, believes Owen could become a key figure in this season’s title race.

"I'm sure playing for Manchester United and training with those players day in, day out, will mean he is only going to score goals,” said the England international defender.

“I must say that is a bit of a nightmare for me as a Chelsea player because I want to win the Premier League and get the trophy back off Manchester United.”

If Owen does get amongst the goals again this season and rediscover his best form there will be plenty of coaches with regrets this summer…including, maybe, Carlo Ancelotti.
