Salgado would be final summer signing for Blackburn Rovers
Sam Allardyce has confirmed he wants Michel Salgado at Blackburn Rovers Football Club, whilst revealing the Spaniard would be his last addition of the summer.
The 33-year-old right-back is available on a free transfer following his release from Real Madrid, and he has been in talks with Rovers over a move to Ewood Park.
"I would like to add Michel Salgado,” Allardyce is quoted on skysports.com. “I think he's an outstanding player of world class quality. That'll be the only one I want and after that no more.
"He didn't come for a trial, he just came for a test, and the test was okay. It lies obviously just with the financial side now which is hopefully going to be okayed by early next week.
"There are one or two fringe players that we've had enquiries about and we may let them go but at the moment if what we've got is all we've got to go with, then I'm comfortable with that."
Despite selling Roque Santa Cruz to Manchester City for a reported £17million this summer, Rovers have spent cash on just three players ahead of the new season: Nikola Kalinic for £6million, Gael Givet (undisclosed), and Niko Giannakopoulos for little more than £50,000.
