Alberto Aquilani insists he has other qualities to former Liverpool ace Xabi Alonso.

Spanish international Alonso was sold to Real Madrid for £30million last week, and although Aquilani was immediately signed from Roma for £20million, he insists he is not a direct replacement.

"He was a very important player at this club," said Aquilani.

"But I am not his natural substitute as I do not have the same characteristics as him. I have a different style in that I like to move around and not stay in the same place."
