Aston Villa Football Club are plotting a daring raid on White Hart Lane.

The future of David Bentley has been of some speculation for much of the summer, just twelve months after he joined the club from Blackburn Rovers in a £15million transfer.

Reports suggest Martin O’Neill wants to take the midfielder for a fee in the region of £6million, which is likely to rise to £8million including appearance add-ons.

The Daily Mail also believe Villa want to sign Jermaine Jenas from Spurs, and are lining up an offer of £7million to take the England player before the end of the month.
