Nicklas Bendtner’s father has denied the striker has signed a new deal at Arsenal Football Club.

It has been suggested that the Danish international has agreed a new three-year deal at the Emirates Stadium which would earn him £50,000-per-week, but his father has denied these claims.

"Under no circumstances is that correct, but it sounds exciting," Thomas Bendtner told Sporten.dk. "I could try to call Arsene Wenger to see if they've done a deal without me.

“But I can't imagine that would happen. Your guess is as good as mine," he said when asked where the story had come from. "We're negotiating and it's so far so good."
