Abou Diaby believes this could be Arsenal Football Club’s season in the UEFA Champions League.

The Gunners have never been crowned European champions in their history, and Arsene Wenger’s side have suffered some heartbreak in the competition in recent seasons.

However, Diaby, who was excellent in the 4-1 Premier League win over Portsmouth on Saturday afternoon, believes this could be the season for the Emirates Stadium club.

"We talk about winning the Champions League,” he told the Evening Standard. “Arsenal deserve to win a big title like the Champions League and as a player you want to win that trophy as well.

“It's in our mind. I would like to be in the final. We can definitely challenge everyone this season. We are ready to fight and to get something this year."
